WineMate PC User Guide |
WineMate PC is released as "WineWare" software. It is freely available, and if you like it you can send me a bottle of wine you like.
It is intended to work with WineMate Palm release 4.0.
WineMatePC is intended to be a "companion" application for WineMate/Palm, allowing you to manage your Palm databases on your desktop.
Please note carefully that WineMatePC is very much "use at own risk".
Welcome to WineMate PC, the WineMate Palm Pilot companion.
The author created WineMate PC to provide a simple, easy to use WineMate Palm desktop companion.
I tried to make it as simple and as intuitive as possible, these notes are provided just to explain a few things that may not be immediately obvious.
The contact email address for WineMate PC is winematepc@free.fr

The name you use for your palm, should be displayed in the Default User Selector.
As with WineMate Palm, WineMate PC allows you to manage information about wine:
1
Wine records
2 Tasting
records
3 Cellar records
4
Parameters records
The version 4.30 introduce a full synchronization between WineMate PC and WineMate Palm.
Then you just have to Hostsynch, in order to synchronize the files between the two platforms.
Before creating new WineMate database files, always make sure you have saved a copy of your current database files in a safe place. If something goes wrong with the update, you should always be confident you can reinstall a copy of your previous database files. There is no way to backout changes made with WineMatePC.
The wine list shows by default all the wines in Cellar. To display all the wines, you have to select "Show empty Cellar".
The filter button allows defining a very precise selection (see below).
A view of the Wine is available on the right of the Dialog, with Cellar and Tasting related records, which can be added or viewed.

The Filter Dialog allows you to filter on different field based on an AND. All the selected fields are active to process the filtering. The example implements a filter on the Area Loire. We can then enhance the filter with a specific year, by example 1998, or requesting only the Red wines in the Loire Area. |
